A Court of Wings and Ruin / ACOTAR #3
The third book of the series, and the last one from Feyre's point of view, deserves a well-earned pedestal as an epic fantasy closure. The war is upon them, and the King of Hybern is bringing everything he has. Let’s be real, he alone is powerful, and now he’s got an army of nightmares surrounding him. The Night Court is doing everything they can to win this war since preventing it is out of the question. They’re pulling out everything they can, including gathering everyone willing to fight, calling in bargains, old friendships, and truces. This book has it all: drama, war, scheming, power-play, character development, breaking points, unexpected twists, and more. The whole thing had me in a thrall of epic proportions.
And it wasn't just about the war and the Cauldron itself. All the things that happened during and after were heart-breaking and tear-filled. Yet, it’s not the absolute ending—we still have more books coming and universes intertwining. It’s an epic adventure I can't get enough of.
By the end, I still wanted more of Lucien and Vassa. There are so many questions left unanswered and so many things to look forward to. (Mor turns dark? Yes, please!) The Bat-Boys are just the beginning, and the Archeron sisters hold strong hands on the future. Not to mention the inevitable redemption for Tamlin (hopefully with Elain—yes, you heard me, I said what I said).
I’m sad to let go of Rhys and Feyre, although I’m sure they’ll appear in future books. But I’m also glad that someone else will take the reins now. This book truly wrapped up Feyre's story in a grand, emotional, and satisfying way, while also setting the stage for even more adventures in the ACOTAR universe. For now, Nessian, here I come!
