Powerless / Powerless Trilogy #1

My Review "Powerless" is an absolute gem that I stumbled upon in a bookstore and couldn't resist picking up. Little did I know that it would become my latest obsession, keeping me glued to its pages until the wee hours of the morning. I was trapped in a whirlwind of banter-filled romantasy and flew through the pages. Both of the main characters had me in a chokehold. Their sass, sarcasm, and sizzling chemistry are top-notch; their slow pace deserves a trophy of its own. Yes, this book was filled with romantasy tropes to the brim, but it didn’t ruin my reading experience as the author cleverly wove them into the story without it feeling like she was shoving them down your throat. Now, the story is set in a world divided between the powerful Elites and the Ordinaries. The Elites, who have special abilities ranging from minor skills to more supreme powers, and of course, the ones born without powers, the Ordinaries. In this kingdom, Ordinaries are inferior to Elites, and on ...

A Curse for True Love / OUABH #3

My Review  So we get here. The ending. I’m not OK, and I still want more. More fairytale, more Jacks, and definitely more snark. And that epilogue? Are we getting more books in this universe? Please, let it be a yes! I'm here for some stories about the Valors. "A Curse for True Love" is a captivating finale to a series that has kept me hooked from the beginning. Like the second book, this one also started a bit slow. The memory loss causing Eva to re-learn her history felt a bit repetitive and dragged on for my taste. But once things started to pick up, the magic returned, and I was back on the fairy-tale train. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that everything got better when Jacks arrived. Jacks is the highlight of this series for me. His arrival brought the story back to life, and I absolutely loved how this tale concluded. It’s sweet, dramatic, and both Jacks and Eva are stubborn in their own ways. That finale had me in tears – such a perfect way for a fairy tale t...

The Ballad of Never After / OUABH #2

My Review  From the moment Jacks betrays Evangeline, she found herself questioning if she could ever trust him again. This sense of betrayal lingers as Evangeline discovers her own magic, hoping to reclaim the happily ever after that Jacks snatched away. But just as things seem to be looking up, a new, terrifying curse emerges, and Evangeline is forced into an uneasy partnership with the Prince of Hearts once more. This time, the stakes are higher, the rules have changed, and Jacks might be the only ally she has in a world full of new threats. The narrative is gripping from the get-go, with a murderous spell replacing the usual love spells, thrusting Evangeline and Jacks into a world of peril where old friends become foes and magic manipulates minds and hearts. Evangeline, who once trusted her heart above all else, now faces uncertainty at every turn. I'll be honest: at the start, I was worried. I feared the series was losing its magic, falling into the dreaded trap of lost potenti...
