Once Upon A Broken Heart / OUABH #1

My Review  After devouring the Caraval series, I was incredibly curious about "Once Upon a Broken Heart." As a big fan of Jacks, I couldn't be happier that he is one of the main characters (though the lack of a POV from his side is a bit disappointing). Nonetheless, this book turned out to be the twisted fairytale I didn't know I needed in my life. Whether it was something addictive sprinkled between the pages or just the allure of the story itself, I got completely HOOKED! Jacks is his usual handsome, evil self, while Evangeline is so pure, naive, and innocent that it's almost frightening at times. The story follows our sweet Evangeline, who has always believed in fairytales and happy endings, thanks to her mother's stories. This belief is shattered when she learns that the love of her life is about to marry another woman—her stepsister, no less. Desperate to stop the wedding and mend her broken heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic yet wick...

My Review  Oh, where to start with ACOFAS? I have to say, this book was the weakest for me in the ACOTAR universe. While I still enjoyed most of it, some parts were just too... MEH. I absolutely loved the snowball fight, the Solstice decorating, and picking on Amren, but I could have done without Feyre's paintings, gossiping and shopping with Mor or all together Mor's POV (I’m still convinced she’ll go dark or do something dodgy in the future). Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed almost every second of this, and it was really nice to spend some time with all those characters again. BUT (yes, it’s a big but) there were a lot of things that didn’t sit well with me. Let’s start with the MC’s. I love Feyre and Rhys, I really do, but I think from ACOWAR onward, their character development kind of went sideways. Feyre’s and Rhys’s holier-than-thou attitude is beginning to get on my nerves. Don't get me wrong, I still think Rhys is a demigod and love his sass and cheeky side, but ...

A Court of Wings and Ruin / ACOTAR #3

Blurb Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's manoeuvrings and the invading king threatening to bring her land to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit - and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well. As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords and hunt for allies in unexpected places. And her heart will face the ultimate test as she and her mate are forced to question whether they can truly trust each other. Tropes   HIGH FANTASY  / NEW ADULT / ROMANTASY /  FAIRYTALE  / MENTAL HEALTH  / ENEMIES TO LOVERS / MAGIC /  SMUT 🌶️🌶️ My Review The third book of the series, and the last one from Feyre's point of view, deserves a well-earned pedestal as an epic fantasy closure. The war is upon them, and the King of Hybern is bringing everything he has. Let’s be real, he alone is powerful, and now he’s...
